Lyrics

Liner Notes

No you can't turn back time
But you can see tomorrow
And I know the way
Take my hand, child, I'll show you

Let me come inside your mind
Aw, come inside your mind

We'll go well beyond touch
Just let it swallow you whole
Yeah, I know the way
To fan the flame in your soul

Let me come inside you mind

Breath out, breath in
Oh breath in and let the dream begin, yeah
Reach out, reach in
Reach in, there you will feel me within, hey
Break out, break in
Break in, break in and let the walls come down again

Let me come inside your mind

No now don't be afraid
He got you covered in sorrow
Yeah, but I know the way
To fly you to tomorrow

Let me come inside your mind

Breath out, breath in
Breath in and let the dream begin, yeah
Reach out, reach in
Reach in, reach in so you can feel me within, hey yeah, hey yeah
Break out, break in
Break out, break in and let the walls come down again

Let me come inside your mind
Oh, let me come inside your mind
Your mind

BEHIND THE MUSIC:

I don't tend to write songs with political agendas or subject matter, but the Russian invasion of the Ukraine just seemed so atrocious and unjustified. It inspired the lyrics of this song from the vantage point of someone fighting for their country against an 'univited' agressor. I wrote this on my piano and I included the real piano tracks on the song when I recorded it in my home studio. I wanted the song to have a marching cadence that I played on a snare drum and then built up the song, layer by layer, with guitar and symphonic sounds for Spitfire BBC Symphony plug-in. I was really happy with fullness of all of the vocal harmonies.
