I am so glad that I was able to take part in this event to raise money for breast cancer research and have such a great time doing it. The models were all awesome to work with and the event team representing Expedition Inspiration were absolutely awesome to me. Here is a picture of all of the painted models shortly before they went on stage for the final judging. And here are the nomanees:

Theme: "On the model's back I painted Mt. Aconcogua because after recovering from breast cancer treatment, Laura (founder of Expedition Inspiration) set out to climb Argentina's Mt. Aconcagua. At 22,841 feet, Mt. Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. In February 1995, Laura and Peter Whittaker led a team of 17 breast cancer survivors to Aconcagua’s summit. They raised awareness, research funds and hope for the breast cancer cause," says Jamie, "Upon request I painted a butterfly which represented transformation. I added the Expedition Inspiration logo above it "

Expedition Inspiration Introduces BOOBAPALOOZA for Breast Cancer Cures

Join Expedition Inspiration for an evening of body paint, cocktails and music for breast cancer cures at Cornerstone Bar and Grill on Friday, April 12.

Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research invites you to BOOBAPALOOZA—an evening of body paint, cocktails and music at Cornerstone Bar and Grill—for breast cancer cures on Friday, April 12 at 9 p.m.

Those 21 and older may attend individually for $30 each, or teams of six can submit a model to the body paint catwalk contest at one of three sponsor levels. Cornerstone Bar and Grill, Zenergy, Sun Valley Mustard, P.A.C.T., Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch and Main Street Market, among others, will all sponsor the evening, and many will submit a model to the contest.

“Local models will strut their stuff on the neon runway clad in body paint and undergarments of their choice at Cornerstone Bar and Grill, all for the sake of raising money for breast cancer research,” said BOOBAPALOOZA co-chair Susan Tucker. “We want to do something different in this community, something that demands and deserves the same attention that breast cancer statistics demand and deserve: One in eight women and one in 1,000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.”

Mark Greenwalt and Jamie Graden, professional body painters and air brushers will be on hand on April 12 to make sponsors’ designs into reality. Teams of six including a model may choose from the Gold ($1,000) Silver ($700) or Bronze ($400) sponsor levels in order to cover body-painting fees and enjoy the evening at varying levels. All sponsors and models are invited to the VIP party beginning at 8 p.m. at Cornerstone. Visit www.expeditioninspiration.org to register your team by April 1 at the latest.

Tara Bell will MC the evening, Parker Johnson, mash-up master of Montana, will DJ (complete with a laser show), and a panel of local celebrity judges will determine the winning teams. The grand prize is a fine dining experience for six complete with wine at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch.

“Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research has a long-standing tradition of funding the world’s best research; however, we are also all about inspiring healthy attitudes,” said Expedition Inspiration Marketing and Development Director Krista Detwiler. “This event

allows us to send a message of being aware and proud of your own body; of both women’s and men’s bodies. In short, it comes down to empowerment. As one sponsor put it, ‘I love boobs, and I hate cancer.’ It’s really that simple.”

Expedition Inspiration encourages those interested in forming a team to appoint their own model who is representative of their company or team; however, EI is happy to appoint a model if needed. Models may choose to wear as much or as little under the body paint as they choose. Undergarments may range from boy shorts and a bra to a g-string and pasties. Teams may also accessorize their design with hats, jewelry, etc.

Join us Wednesday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m. at Cornerstone as EI representatives Krista Detwiler Sonya Johnston, Leroy Kingland, and Steve Myers, guest bartend and pre-sell tickets and raffle tickets. Tickets are also available at www.expeditioninspiration.org for $30. Cornerstone Bar and Grill is located at 211 N. Main Street in Ketchum, Idaho.

BOOBAPALOOZA, as well as all of Expedition Inspiration’s fundraising events, contributes to the Annual Laura Evans Memorial Breast Cancer Symposium and the Young Investigator Awards. Both of these programs are directly tied to Expedition Inspiration’s mission to find new cures and prevention strategies in the fight against breast cancer so the people we love—our mothers, sisters, daughters and sons—won’t suffer from the disease.

‘Boobapalooza’: Witty name, serious task
Breast cancer bazaar to feature painted models
By BRENNAN REGO
Express Staff Writer
Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research knows how to make light of a serious disease, for great reasons. On Friday, April 12, the nonprofit will host Boobapalooza, a fundraiser that will feature body-painted, scantily clad models cat-walking on a Ketchum bar top, all to support finding a cure for breast cancer.
“Models may choose to wear as much or as little under the body paint as they choose,” a recent Expedition Inspiration Fund news release states. “Undergarments may range from boy shorts and a bra to a g-string and pasties.”
According to the release, the event—which will take place at the Cornerstone Bar and Grill at 9 p.m.—will serve as a message from Expedition Inspiration for both men and women to be “aware and proud” of their own bodies.
“[Expedition Inspiration] has a longstanding tradition of funding the world’s best research,” states Krista Detwiler, the organization’s spokeswoman, in the release. “[H]owever, we are also all about inspiring healthy attitudes.”
People or businesses interested in sponsoring the event can form a team and appoint their own model to represent them on the runway or ask Expedition Inspiration to provide one for them. Teams of up to six people, including the model, can become Gold (by donating $1,000), Silver ($700) or Bronze ($400) sponsors.
“As one sponsor put it, ‘I love boobs, and I hate cancer.’ It’s really that simple,” Detwiler said.
The models will be painted by professional body painters and air brushers, based on team-selected designs. Teams may accessorize their design with hats, jewelry and other add-ons. The winning team, determined by a panel of local “celebrity” judges, will receive a fine dining experience for six, complete with wine, at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch in Stanley. All sponsors and models are invited to a party at 8 p.m. at the Cornerstone. Sponsor teams must register online at www.expeditioninspiration.com by April 1.
People 21 and over who don’t want to commit to being sponsors but still want to go to the main event can buy tickets for $30 on Expedition Inspiration’s website. Tickets will also be available at the Cornerstone during a presale on April 3 at 5:30 p.m.
“We want to do something different in this community, something that demands and deserves the same attention that breast cancer statistics demand and deserve,” Boobapalooza Co-Chair Susan Tucker said. “One in eight women and one in 1,000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.”

Ski ‘Suit’ Supports Cancer Research
Boobapalooza winner Krisen BrookeFitness model and Boise resident Kristen Brooke models a painted-on Yves Saint Laurent-style Mondrian print “ski suit” at Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research’s Boobapalooza fundraiser Friday night at the Cornerstone Bar and Grill in Ketchum. “It was fun,” Brooke said. “More nerve-racking getting ready than it was on stage.” The packed event featured nine body-painted models—both male and female—who represented sponsor teams by strutting the catwalk for ticket-holding attendees. According to body painters Jaime Graden and Mark Greenawalt, the artwork took about two to three hours per model. Greenawalt said the Mondrian looks simple, but the lines must be painted as an illusion so they appear straight on a moving body. Brooke, who represented Sun Valley Mustard and Alpinfoto, won the competition based on scores from local judges and crowd support.
