Ice Blonde Trooper
The cover of Robert A. Heinlein's book Starship Troopers features a tough-as-nails veteran soldier in space armor. It was an illustration by artist James Warhola, the nephew of pop artist Andy Warhol. My illustration is an homage to his cover, but instead features a sexy female trooper and widens the field of view to reveal a near planet glimpsed through glass panels.
This project began as a bodypainting project at the 2011 Phoenix ComiCon and featured model Lessa Michelle. The live demonstration was held as part of the blood drive being held in honor of the late Heinlein. The name Ice Blonde was from the animated Starship Troopers: Invasion.
This is an 11" X 17" open edition poster print of Ice Blonde Trooper. This is an original poster printed on cover stock and is signed and sent directly from the artist in a sturdy 3" mailing tube.
