CopperCon Sci-Fi Convention
by Mark Greenawalt

Come one, come all to one of Arizona's premier science fiction conventions.  It's called CopperCon XXII and it will be taking place on September 6th through the 8th at Embassy Suites at Greenway Road and I-17.  This year's theme is Star Wars and you can find out more details at www.coppercon.org .  My part in the festivities will be a bodypainting demonstration on Saturday night.  My initial plan had been to paint a model to be the Chaos! Comic character Purgatori (or possibly Lady Death).  Unfortunately Chaos! Comics just recently went out of business and there is no way to get the necessary permissions to use their images.  So I'm back to the drawing board and brainstorming ideas.  Next month's newsletter will most likely unveil whatever I come up with...stay tuned.  Come on out if you can to cheer me on!  I am hoping this will be as successful as the LepreCon demonstration with Tawnya Gentleman and I welcome you to visit her site to see some pictures from that session.

Razor Magazine Tear Sheet
by Mark Greenawalt

Last month I mentioned that I painted several models for Razor Magazine's Summer of Swagger parties in Scottsdale.  This month I am proud to announce that several photos of the painted models have been included in the September issue of the magazine.  I'd like to once again thank models Blanche Spaulding, Olga Rowe, and Jennifer Miller for volunteering to be canvases for my artform and Razor Magazine for making me a part of the promotions.  The September issue is on newstands now and features Natasha Henstridge (Star of the sci-fi movie "Species") on the cover.  Go to my Razor Magazine party page to see the bodypainting shots that made the magazine.

Other Bullet Items...
by Mark Greenawalt

- Congrats to LeeAnne and Jim for their recent wedding in Hawaii.  I truly wanted to be there believe me.  LeeAnne has worked with me on two bodypainting sessions and  she is a phenomenal singer in the Tucson market.  Best wishes!!!

Here are a couple of face paintings that I did for the Carnival themed party for Razor magazine.

- Check out the new site for model Sarah Bowers at www.sarahbowers.com.  One of the pictures featured on her site is from the Spirit of the Senses demonstration.  There are several great shots of her on the site taken by photographer Don Crossland and rumor has it that she has made some major contacts recently.  Good luck Sarah!

-I was interviewed recently for an article in Playtime magazine (and possibly Impulse magazine also).  That article should be included in the October issue if all goes as planned.
