Back to Phoenix
by Mark Greenawalt

Another chapter in my life is coming to an end and a new one is about to begin.  The big news is that I have decided to move back to Phoenix.  It's been a very tough decision since I have developed a lot of relationships here in Nashville, but when I weighed my options, I felt that Arizona was the best choice for my family and I.  I have accepted a position at the company that I worked for when I lived in Phoenix four years ago and plan to be relocating in early February.

I'm going to miss a lot of the friends that are here in Tennessee and I will be having a going-away-party on Saturday night, January 29th at 7:00pm at my house (BYOB).  Everyone's invited, but please RSVP if you plan to attend so we have some idea of how many to plan for.  As far as the welcome-back-party in Arizona, that will be scheduled at a later time.

I am looking forward to getting back together with my friends from the ANTI-M days and there's a rumor floating around that there will be an ANTI-M anthology CD released soon with a couple of new studio tracks (but you didn't hear it from me).  I would like to emphasize that I am not giving up my musical aspirations and songwriting.  I am just relocating the headquarters, if you will.  I plan to also continue with my art and photography.  My new electrical engineering position will also bring with it new responsibilities and challenges.  In short, I plan to stay as busy with my life there as I did here.  Next month, the Green Pages will begin documenting my life and times in the new locale.  Stay tuned.

Ever Play In Front Of 17,500 People?
by Mark Greenawalt

Why, yes I have.  In early January I played in a band with Ashley Hayes during a Nashville Predators hockey game in a sold out arena.  Talk about leaving Nashville in style.  The bands name is Ashley Hayes and Southern Strut and we played covers by Shania Twain, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Wynonna Judd, and others including a Leanne Rimes version of Janis Joplin's "Bobby McGee".  To see some pictures from the show, check out the website at www.ilovemusiccity.com/southernstrut.htm .

I had the opportunity to play acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, harmonica, and even debuted my mandolin abilities to the largest crowd that I have ever played for.  It was a surreal experience, and yet I felt surprisingly comfortable on stage.  I'd do it again given half the chance.  Call me...I'll still just be a short plane flight from Nashville.

Shoot the Moon, a Capital, and the Wonders of the World
by Mark Greenawalt

Did you get to see the total lunar eclipse this month?  I love this kind of stuff and this time I took the opportunity to try to photograph it.  My zoom lens did a fair job, but I only had a 210mm lens to work with.  Next time I'll hook up with a telescope maybe.  See my best picture at www.futureclassx.com/photo/nature/eclipse.jpg .

Well my challenge to shoot all of the capitals of the United States by December 31st, 1999 failed...no...has been extended to December 31st, 2000...yeah, that's the ticket.  I did add Raleigh, North Carolina to the website in December bringing my total to 24 states plus the nations capital.  Not bad, if I do say so myself.  I should be adding Santa Fe, New Mexico on my way out to Phoenix.

Now since I have extended my goal by a year, I decided to 'up the ante' on the challenge.  I have decided to try to also photograph the 7 natural wonders of the New World.  Over the Christmas holiday I was able to visit Natural Bridge, Virginia and took this picture (http://www.futureclassx.com/photo/nature/natbridge.jpg).  I already have the Grand Canyon and somewhere around here there are some shots of Niagara Falls too.  Wish me luck.

Websites Showcasing My Work
by Mark Greenawalt

There are a growing number of websites on the internet that are displaying my photography.  Here are some examples.  The site www.ballparks.com shows sports arenas and coliseums for college and professional teams and they are using my photo of Adelphia Coliseum on their site.  The images from my photoshoot with model Penny Nowak have found their way to two different websites.  One is a modeling forum for a graphic art organization at http://www.graphicartistsinc.com/ and the other is a website of "sensual" photographs from across the web at http://www.intherain.com/sensual/galleries.html (in galleries 12 and 13).  Images from my photoshoot with Stacey can now be found at The Models Page and Glamour Link.

Several other sites are out there that I have helped to develop and, in doing so, I have included some of my own work.  Dawna Bradford's webpage can be found at http://members.home.net/dawnab/dawna.htm and it displays several of my photographs and includes some sound files of songs that I have written.  The website for my engineering company is www.icthomasson.com and there are several photos on there of projects that I worked on and took pictures of while on site.  Kristy Deck is preparing to launch www.kristydeck.com in the coming weeks which will have some of the shots from her CD cover photoshoot.  The picture I took of the band Evermore is now showing on their website at http://home.earthlink.net/~theblake/ and it also showed up in the local newspaper.  The list is growing and it makes me proud.  Maybe someday I'll be a world renown photographer or at least a world-wide-web renown photographer.

Notable Bullet Items
by Mark Greenawalt

-The Dawna Bradford band will be recording a couple of songs with me before I leave.  Dawna and I may actually be able to maintain our musical relationship to some degree since she is able to fly to Phoenix for free.  Hopefully we will be able to get together to do some songwriting and I might be able to set up some shows with her.

-Throughout the year 2000 I will be giving away one of my prints of Mill's Barn (http://www.futureclassx.com/art/millsbar.jpg) each month to someone who has signed my guest book.  I will do a random drawing at the end of each month to determine the winner and will announce it in the following months Green Pages.  So if you'd like a chance to win and haven't signed it yet, remember...you can't win if you haven't signed.  If you just can't wait to see if you've won, you can order one for $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping and handling by e-mailing me.

Type at you next month!!!
